The GUI has tabs to change between the Model, Play Style, Strings, Electronics, Amp/FX and Control views. Modo Bass relies on modal synthesis technology, which is used to model each string as a nonlinear resonator that interacts in a realistic way with the action of the player as regards picking technique and string position. Other variable controls may be assigned to MIDI controllers, but don’t respond to conventional DAW automation. All the little organic noises produced by real basses are recreated, but placed under user control, and there are specific playing nuances that can be activated using keys (MIDI notes) outside the normal range of the instrument. Just like the real thing, the tone varies depending on whether you use your fingers or a pick and the sound also changes appropriately depending where you pluck the string relative to the bridge and how hard you pluck it. Is it easy to get bored with just one? Do some of you ever get additional ones because you want a new sounds and colors? So i thought this thread may be a nice cohesive and current list for anyone considering a new vst synth for bass. I have researched Psytrance synths on the web for a while, some references dating back so long. With the cost of these around $150 - $200+, i want to try to get it right the first time. But there are so many to choose from and I would like to hear peoples opinions or experiences with them, maybe even examples? Of course some artists I like I have no idea what they use for Bass so, I am trying to keep an open mind before I pick a path. Right now I am leaning Serum, because of some artists i love dearly are using it, it's popularity, its sound, and its additional features besides bass. I am finally in the market to buy a nice VST Synth for the main purpose of making Bass (and of course anything else is a plus, like leads and atmospheres).
